Fashion Tips for Hourglass Figures
You’re curvy and you love it. Like Marilyn Monroe, your body angles gracefully and daringly, calling attention to your svelte waist. You know you’re fine with your figure, but unsure about what to don upon it. Have no fear, Lulu is here!
First off, proportion is of the utmost importance. The hourglass gal needs to lengthen the look of her torso so that her small waist is accentuated. Here are some tips for how to do just that!
1. Try one-piece ensembles that won’t cut you at the waist. Strapless dresses are just divine on you, so select the sauciest.
2. Choose the correct bra. You need enough support, so try a fitting to be sure you’re wearing the right size. Most women aren’t!
3. Wearing wrap tops and dresses will accentuate your slim middle.
4. Sport a three-quarter length sleeve to reveal your thin wrists while covering up any potential problem areas.
5. Draw attention to your beautiful face by opting for scoop and v-neck tops.
6. Wear light colors on top, darker on the bottom.
Avoid the following:
1. Say no to empire-waist clothes. They hide your waist, creating a shapeless silhouette — or, worse yet — the illusion of pregnancy!
2. High necklines will also deter attention from your waist, so stray from them when choosing your wardrobe.
3. Jackets that hit right at the waist or coats that cover your bottom completely are best for you; avoid outerwear that hits right at your derriere.
4. Don’t do double-breasted — unless you want to emphasize your torso, which we don’t recommend. Remember, the focus should be on your waist.
5. Short skirts will create a stunted look that accentuates the wrong parts. Longer and leaner work better.
6. Don’t do baggy! Select straighter-legged pants and jeans with a slight flare at the bottom.
Of course, you should always feel comfortable, whatever you choose. However, by adhering to this simple guide, you’ll accentuate your curves dramatically and look and feel absolutely fabulous!
